Die holländische Band TRISTAN ist ist wieder zu Gast bei JazzrockTV und präsentiert das bereits 8. Album in neuer Besetzung mit der Sängerin IRMA DERBY (deren Gesang an Randy Crawford, Chaka Khan und Donna Summer erinnert) und dem Gitarristen GLENN BLACK.
Nach dem beeindruckenden Auftritt beim Jam In The Basement im Jahr 2023 freuen wir uns sehr, dass die Band dieses Jahr ihr neues Album “Frou-Frou” (Erscheinungstermin 4. April 2025) wieder live bei JazzrockTV präsentiert.
Mit dem neuen Album beweist die Band, dass sie zurecht an der Spitze der Europäischen Soul-Szene stehen. Das bestätigt auch die Mitwirkung des TRISTAN Mitbegründers COEN MOLENAAR (keys) an dem letzten Album von INCOGNITO.

It’s tough to sit still when listening to Netherlands-based R&B band Tristan. The quintet has a keen sense of classic soul, funk and pop, and they bring high energy to every song on their always-fun albums. (According to Soultracks USA).
Funky rhythm guitars, vintage keyboard sounds like Hammond, Fender Rhodes and synths. A rhythm section that has been performing together for decades playing solid grooves and tight, punchy arrangements that have since become their trademark.
All this underpins stunningly beautiful and soulful vocals of Irma Derby. It will take you back to that great warm sound of the 70’s, with a fresh breeze of influences from the present. While Tristan’s music may sound like bands such as The Crusaders, Tower of Power, Snarky Puppy, or classic Acid Jazz acts such as Incognito and the Brand New Heavies – who all produce high energy grooves – what makes this group stand out from their contemporaries is the high quality of the compositions and arrangements.
